Couple charged with making meth
A Priceville mother and father of three children are facing charges of making methamphetamine at their home after a bust Wednesday.
Julia Kristin Pearson, 30, was arrested and charged with the attempt to commit a controlled substance crime-manufacture of methamphetamine. She is being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
Agents are obtaining a warrant for the arrest of Dustin Colby Melson, 27, charging him with the attempt to commit a controlled substance crime- manufacture of methamphetamine along with unlawful possession of felony drug paraphernalia. He is currently in Decatur City Jail. Melson’s bond was set at $5,000.
The Priceville Police Department asked for the Morgan County Drug Task Force to respond to at 45 Shadow Wood Private Drive in the Priceville/Somerville area. According to a family member, chemicals were located on the property that were possibly associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Agents discovered items such as Coleman camp fuel, syringes, lithium battery casings, pseudoephedrine blister packs and evidence of a one-pot methamphetamine lab in a burn pile.
Morgan County Department of Human Resources took custody of the couple’s three children and placed them in foster care. Officers learned that there had been prior contact with DHR and family over the past months.
