Morgan County voters gave Randall Shedd the nod over Danny Alldredge in a special runoff election for the Republican nominee for State Representative, District 11, on Tuesday.
Shedd received 93 votes, or 55.36 percent while Alldredge garnered 75 votes, or 44.54 percent.
Shedd had 93 votes compared to 57 for Alldredge in the special primary election on Feb. 12.
A general election will be held on May 7 with Shedd facing a Democratic nominee who did not face opposition in the primary election.
The winner will fill the seat vacated by Jeremy Oden, R-Eva, who was appointed to the Alabama Public Service Commission in January 2013.
