The event was conducted under sunny skies at Sparkman Park. Alongside it was a carnival for kids sponsored by Daystar Church. Kids were invited to take advantage of three inflatable rides, as well as face painting and free balloons.

“We put out about 10,000 plastic colored eggs in four separate areas,” said Kiwanian Tom Sparks. “They’ll all be picked up in 15 to 20 minutes.” After that we’ll be busy collecting the eggs in exchange for bags of candy and awarding grand prizes.”

Easter baskets were awarded to the finders of silver and gold eggs in each age division, in addition to the finders of two other gold eggs, in addition to two grand prices gold eggs.

The Daystar carnival provided fun things for the kids to do before and after the egg hunt.

“We’re happy to be here and offer the kids an opportunity to play and have fun,” said Teri Smith, Daystar art activities coordinator. “It’s an opportunity for us to reach out to the community by giving the kids an activity they enjoy. We appreciated Park and Recreation and Kiwanis Club for allowing us to be a part of their egg hunt.”
