Fast food restaurant to host ‘Coffee with a Cop’

The Hartselle Police Department will be hosting an event entitled “Coffee with a Cop” on May 8 from 7 to 9 a.m. at Burger King in Hartselle.

The public is invited to come and participate in HPD’s first event of its kind. Residents can meet the Chief of Police, members of the command staff, investigators and some of the officers that patrol the community.

General Manager Angie Glover said she was eager and excited to sponsor such a worthwhile event.

“There are no speeches or presentations planned,” Hartselle Police Chief Ron Puckett said in a statement. “This is an opportunity for me and my staff as well as the police officers to meet with the public minus any agenda. The benefits fall right in line with one of my top priorities for the department and that is to provide polite, professional and proficient police service to the citizens of Hartselle…we are very excited to be hosting this event”

The department made contact with Burger King and expressed an interest in their willingness to host the event. The response was overwhelmingly positive on behalf of Burger King and Angie Glover has agreed to provide the coffee for the event.

“We are fortunate to have local businesses in the area that are willing to make this commitment to their police department, especially in an economy like this,” Puckett said. “ I am open to any local business that would like to supply a location, and coffee for this event. This is a long range plan for us here at HPD. we would like to have these Coffee with a Cop events quarterly throughout the city”
