Burks wins triple jump in Mobile Meet of Champions

Hartselle High School senior Quanesha Burks collected a first place award in triple jump competition at the Mobile Meet of Chanpions on Saturday.

The Alabama signee finished first with a distance of 38-03.25 while competing against seven other outstanding female athletes from the southeastern U.S.

She also placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 18.04 and sixth in both the 100 and 200-meter events with times of 12.09 and 25.28, respectively.

Burks competed at the same event as a junior, winning first in the triple and second in both the long jump and 100-meter dash.

“Quanesha performed very well when you consider that only high school girl athletes from southeastern states were invited to compete,” said Hartselle High track coach Kenny Lopez.
