Support our Blue Star Mothers

I would greatly appreciate our Hartselle Enquirer readers supporting the Blue Star Mothers of Morgan County, as they work to fill care packages for our deployed soldiers in May.

The Blue Star Mothers will be shipping 50 care packages. Items for the packages can be dropped off at Shady Grove Baptist Church by April 28. Some of the suggested items for these care packages include cards, notes, letters, candy, soup in a cup and individually wrapped drink mixes.

I just want to say thank you to all of our Blue Star Mothers for the work that they do in support of our soldiers, and God bless America.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to Andy LaFavor on April 1, Matt Anderson on April 3, Doris Spinks and Bobby Dobbins, both on April 4, Gary Long and Rachel Wilhite, both on April 6, and Brantlee Bibb and Oscar Roden, both on April 9.

Happy birthday wishes also go out this week to Andrea Carter, Crystal Carter and Gina Lacey, all on April 10, and Jada Callahan, Jared Callahan and Chase McCaghren, all on April 13.

Wonderful belated happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week to Louis and Betty Depreast. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 2.

Special belated happy wedding anniversary wishes also go out to Tran and Melissa Griffin, who celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on April 4.

Congratulations go out this week to Brett and Kayla Riggs on the birth of their daughter, Reeslyn Marie Riggs. Marie was born March 15. She weighed seven pounds, six ounces and was 19 inches long. Marie is the granddaughter of Denise and Brad Chupp, Rex Kiser and Charles and Frances Riggs. Marie’s proud big brother is Camden.

The spring senior adult retreat will be held at Shocco Springs Mon. through Wed., April 15-17.

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church are in need of items for their Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. Some of the items needed for these shoe boxes are stuffed animals that are small, toys and other children’s items. They are also working on a project called “Trash into Cash,” and they are asking for your toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes and pairs of shoes. The proceeds from this project will go to Missions.

I would like to say a special hello this week to Dr. Joe and Rachel Slate, Steve Jackson, Charlie, Larry and Alice Nace, Linda; Trinity; Kay Farrer, and O.B. and Linda Owens.
