Only minor damage reported from storm
Morgan County sustained only minor damage as a result of a line of a line of heavy thunderstorms that passed through the area Thursday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for the Morgan County Emergency Management Agency.
A tornado warning that lasted from about 3:15 to 4 p.m. prompted many Hartselle storeowners to close their doors and sent local residents seeking safe cover inside their homes and businesses.
The EMA spokesman said reports were received of some mobile home damage in the Danville area, loss of power and traffic lights out at the intersection of Alabama Highways 67 and 20 in Decatur and some scattered damage to trees and power lines.
Heavy lightning, thunder and rainfall were also associated with the storm front.
