Falkville ends season with even record
Falkville’s baseball team ended its season with 13-13 record by splitting a doubleheader Saturday.
Falkville 11, West Morgan 10 (9)
Ryan Bradford was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score in Hunter Woodall in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Blue Devils the walk-off win.
Woodall finished 3-for-5 with four runs scored.
Tyler Woodall was 2-for-5 with two RBIs while Tanner Evans was 1-for-5 with an RBI. Alston Howard was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI while Nic Martin was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
It was Martin’s two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning that kept the game going.
Evans got the win, pitching the last three and two-thirds innings. He allowed two unearned runs on two hits with one strikeout. Ryan Bradford started the game and allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits and two walks with a strikeout in five and one-third innings.
Fairview 15, Falkville 4
Fairview scored 12 runs in the final fifth and sixth inningss to take back the lead for good and defeat Falkville one inning early.
Adam Keenum led the hitting for Falkville with a 2-for-3 performance and a run scored. Ryan Bradford had a hit and two RBIs.
Tanner Evans, Hunter Woodall and Alston Howard each had hits.
Howard took the loss, allowing three earned runs on six hits and three walks.
