Priceville girls win one, tie another, lose two in tourney

Priceville’s Lady Bulldogs won one game, tied one and lost two while competing in the Cullman Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Their win came against J.B. Pennington. 7-3.

Nine players combined for 11 hits. Kenzi Price led the way with a pair of singles and three RBIs. Emily Williams also had two singles. Alison Varner and Brittany Marks each doubled and McKenzie Parker, Amber Johnson, Beth Wilson, Abby St, John and Kayla Parton each had a single.

Madison Beddingfield was the winning pitcher, She allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking two batters.

Priceville and Fairview were deadlocked at 6-6 when time expired.

The Lady Bulldog out-hit Fairview nine to five. Williams had a double and single and two RBIs. Wilson had a pair of singles and an RBI, Varner had a double and single, Johnson had a double and Marks and Catherine Law each singled.

St. Johns pitched one-third inning, allowing six runs on four hits with a strikeout. Beddingfield pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and struck out three.

The Lady Bulldogs lost to Enterprise, 4-2.

St. John had a double and Varner, Marks and Johnson each singled for Priceville’s only hits.

Erin Payne was the losing pitcher. She allowed four runs on nine hits while walking two batters.

The Lady Bulldogs also lost to J.B. Pennington, 5-1.

Priceville managed only one hit, a double by Williams.

Payne was the losing pitcher. She allowed four runs on one hit while striking out one and walking four batters in one and one-third innings. Beddingfield came on in relief and pitched three and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on one hit while walking three batters.
