New Center Baptist to observe Homecoming

Spring is in full force. The grass is growing, the flowers are blooming, the birds are singing and the bumble bees are buzzing. After winter, it’s always good to look forward to a great spring.

Somerville Baptist Church Pack 226 celebrated Scout Sunday 2013 on April 28. The following scouts received awards for God and Me: (grades 1-3) Dalton Hillis, Carson Lemmond, Jonathan McCormick, Dalton Parker, Noah Roberts, Jasper Corder, Michael Cherubino, Carson Hatfield, David Ratje and Dylan Bryant. The following scouts received awards for God and Family: (grades 4-5) Jacob Cherubino, Parker Lemmond, Nathan McCormick, Hayden Moon, Mason Moon and Oliver Bryant.

Congratulations scouts for all of your hard work. Thank you so much parents for allowing our leaders to work with your children.

Sunday, May 12, is Mother’s Day. I would love to wish my mother, Evelyn Motes, a happy Mother’s Day! You are such a wonderful mother, always going the extra mile to make sure everything is taken care of. You’re always putting everyone else’s needs before your own. I love you and have a wonderful Mother’s Day, from your daughter, Javon.

Homecoming and Decoration will be observed at New Center Baptist Church on Sun., May 19. Following the morning service, there will be a covered dish lunch.

John Croyle will be speaking at Cullman Civic Center, 510 5th Street SW, Cullman, Mon., May 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., on the topic “A Proven Game Plan for Raising Sons and Daughters.” There is no charge for this event.
