Funeral for Jetta Elkins Lowery, 90, of Hartselle will be Fri., May 10, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Bro. Dewain Clemons officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery at 3 p.m. Visitation will be Fri., May 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Lowery died Wed., May 8, 2013, at her residence. She was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Colbert County to Melvin Hulet Elkins and Eula Earline Ford Elkins. Mrs. Lowery was the head cheerleader at Colbert County High School, Class of 1942. She was a Beta Club member and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Paul Lowery; and her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Dwight Lowery and wife Linda of Hartselle and William Lowery of Florence; two sisters, Verna Thorne and Marcidle Norton, both of Florence; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care provided for their mother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Valley.
