Hartselle BOE personnel actions from May 21 meeting

The Hartselle Board of Education approved numerous personnel actions at its May 21 board meeting.

The board did not renew the contract of Craig McCarley.

The following resignations were approved:

• Kathy Cheatham resigned from an assistant softball coach position at HHS.

• Sherry Echols, sixth grade social studies teacher at HJHS retired.

• Beth Long resigned from the position of varsity cheer sponsor at HHS.

• Juanita Jones retired from the position of instructional aide at the central office.

• Hank Quattlebaum retired from the position of maintenance supervisor effective July 31.

• Deborah Smith retired from the position of sixth grade science teacher at Hartselle Junior High.

The following transfers were approved:

• Beth Ashworth, volunteer to transfer from the position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at BBES to a position as a six-hour child nutrition worker HJHS.

• Margarete Burson, volunteer to transfer from the position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HHS to a position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HJHS;

• Cindy Childers, volunteer to transfer from the position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HJHS to a position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Holly Douglas, volunteer to transfer from the position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HJHS to a position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Opal Holsonback, volunteer to transfer from the position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HJHS to a position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at BBES;

• Jane Kelso, volunteer to transfer from the position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HJHS to a position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Kathy Norwood, volunteer to transfer from the position as a cafeteria manager at HJHS to a position as cafeteria manager at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Donna Osborne, volunteer to transfer from the position as a three-hour child nutrition worker at HJHS to a position as a three-hour child nutrition worker at CES;

• Janice Parker, volunteer to transfer from the position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HJHS to a position as a six-hour child nutrition worker at HHS; and

• Vicki Sharp, from the position of child nutrition manager at HHS to child nutrition worker at HJHS.

• Dorothy Bell, volunteer to transfer from the position as custodian at HJHS to a position as a custodian at Hartselle Intermediate High School, effective June 1;

• Elaine Burchell, volunteer to transfer from the position as custodian at CES to a position as a custodian at HHS, effective June 1; and,

• Franklin Swann, volunteer to transfer from the position as custodian at HJHS to a position as a custodian at Hartselle Intermediate School, effective June 1, 2013.

• Kim Alexander, transfer from the position as a sixth grade teacher at HJHS, to a position as a sixth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Cindy Averitt, transfer from the position as a sixth grade teacher at HJHS, to a position as a sixth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• June Barnes, transfer from the position as a Special Education Teacher at HJHS, to a position as a Special Education Teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Vicki Blankenship, transfer from the position as a sixth grade teacher at HJHS, to a position as a sixth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Jonathan Bragwell, from the position as a fifth grade teacher at FEB, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Jennifer Burks, transfer from the position as a sixth grade teacher at HJHS, to a position as a sixth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Wendy Crow, transfer from the position as a fifth grade teacher at CES, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Susan Hogan, transfer from the position as a fifth grade teacher at BBES, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Michelle Kelso, from the position of fifth grade teacher at FEB, to the position of fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Amanda Key, transfer from the position as a sixth grade teacher at HJHS to a position as a sixth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Daphne Landers, transfer from the position as a sixth grade teacher at HJHS, to a position as a sixth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Teresa Maynard, transfer from the position as a sixth grade teacher at HJHS, to a position as a sixth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Suzanne Mozley, transfer from the position as a fifth grade teacher at FEB to a position as a Third grade teacher at FEB;

• Heather Murphy, transfer from the position as a fifth grade teacher at CES, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Shane Owens, transfer from the position as a fifth grade teacher at CES, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Brooke Pettey, transfer from the position as a third grade teacher at FEB, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Penny Roy, transfer from the position as a fifth grade teacher at BBES, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Stacy Steenson, transfer from the position as a fifth grade teacher at CES, to a position as a fifth grade teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Taylor Keeton, transfer from the position as a full time band teacher at HJHS, to a position as ½ day band teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School, and ½ day Band Teacher at HJHS;

• Michelle Reburn, transfer from the position as a full time chorus teacher at HJHS, to a position as ½ day chorus teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School, and ½ day chorus teacher at HJHS;

• Diane Shelton, transfer from the position as a physical education teacher at HJHS, to a position as a physical education teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Theresa Thrasher, transfer from the position as a Special Education Teacher at HJHS, to a position as a Special Education Teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Chris Wimberley, transfer from the position as a physical education teacher at HJHS, to a position as a physical education teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School;

• Karen Wingenter, transfer from the position as a full time Art Teacher at HJHS, to a position as ½ day Art Teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School, and ½ day Art Teacher at HJHS; and

• Dan Bennich, transfer from the position as a gifted teacher at CES to a position as a gifted teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School.

• Keith Morrow, a special education/alternative school teacher at HHS be transferred to the position of special education teacher at Hartselle Intermediate School effective with the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year. The reason for this recommendation is because of an open position at Hartselle Intermediate School

The board approved the following employments:

• Sharon Sherman to fill the position of 6-hour child nutrition worker at Barkley Bridge Elementary;

• Terri Ward to fill the position of the position of Cafeteria Manger at HHS;

• Kelly Ward to fill the position of the position of Cafeteria Manger at HJHS;

• Renee Owen to fill the position of the position of Cafeteria Manger at CES;

• Kristi Wood to fill the position of the position of custodian, based at the central office, to be assigned to schools, effective June 1;

• Alan Wiley to fill the position of the position of custodian based at the central office to be assigned to schools, effective June 1 pending background clearance;

• Christina Brewer to fill the position of the position of custodian based at the central office, to be assigned to schools, effective June 1 pending background clearance;

• Amy Stadthagen to fill the position of bookkeeper at the central office, effective retroactive to May 16;

• Marie Blevins, to fill the position of an eight-hour custodian, based at the central office, to be assigned to schools, effective June 1; and,

• Daniel Stephenson to fill the position of custodian, based at the central office, to be assigned to schools, effective June 1 pending background clearance.
