Lilly Oaks, President of the Danville FFA Chapter, accepted the 100 percent membership award for the Danville FFA Chapter at the State FFA Convention held in Montgomery June 5-7. The Danville FFA Chapter was one of ten schools across the state recognized for having 100 percent FFA membership. The chapter received a chapter banner for the accomplishment. Sandy Fields is the Danville FFA Advisor.
- The Danville FFA Chapter had five students who received their State FFA Degree at the State FFA Convention held in Montgomery June 5-7. The State FFA degree is the highest degree a student can receive at the state level. The award is based on a student’s Supervised Agricultural Experiece Program, FFA involvement and Community Servive. - The Danville FFA Meats Evaluation Team placed 3rd in the state contest held at Auburn University June 4th. Team members are (L-R) Quinn Roberts, Erin Turner, Haley Cutcher, Jordan Turney and Jesse Turner. The team received a chapter banner for their accomplishments. The Meats Evaluation and Technology CDE is designed to provide a competitive event for agriculture education students, develop employment skills in the meat animal industry, expand their knowledge of meat animal marketing and merchandising, develop broader analytical skills and critical thinking strategies, and develop an understanding of appropriate meat terminology. The event also develops the ability to evaluate meat animal products in order to optimize economic returns to producers and industry as well as meet the needs of the consumer.
