Camp Meeting set June 23-28

The 114th annual Hartselle Camp Meeting promises a week of Christ-centered preaching, inspirational singing and Bible-based children’s activities beginning Sun., June 23, and continuing through Fri., June 28.

The opening service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, featuring Junior Hill of Hartselle, a Southern Baptist evangelist.

Evangelists scheduled to speak at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. weekday services are John Ed Mathison, Tommy Gray and Phil Waldrep.

Mathison is a retired Methodist pastor from Montgomery, Gray is senior associate pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison; and Waldrep is a conference director, author and evangelist from Decatur.

Others serving on the camp staff are: Ron Bean of Hartselle United Methodist Church, music director; Rob Cain of Tuscaloosa, youth pastor; Brooks and Shelly Moss of Tuscaloosa, children’s workers; and David and Rachel Kerney of World Gospel, missionaries to Bolivia.

Programs and overnight lodging will be provided for students grades six through college; children of grades 1-5 will have Bible study, crafts and games, and a nightly canteen will bring camp attendees of all ages together for a time of fellowship and snacking.

Special observances consist of Pastor Appreciation Day on Monday, a memorial service Tuesday, Mission Day on Wednesday, Student Night Wednesday night and Children’s Recognition Night Thursday.
