Gwennell Taylor

Funeral for Gwennell Taylor, 78, of Vinemont was Sun., June 16, at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Peebles officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Enon Cemetery in Cullman Co. Mrs. Taylor died Wed., June 12, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

She was born May 10, 1935, in Cullman County to William Howard Wright and Verna Hawkins Wright. Mrs. Taylor was married for 58 years to Eschel L.Taylor, who preceded her in death in 2008. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a retired federal employee, but continued to work five hours per day for the Morgan County Commission on Aging as the center’s manager. She enjoyed gardening, travel and doing events with her horse and carriage service.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Taylor and wife Debe of Roseville, Mich. and Steven Taylor and wife Terri of Huntsville; five grandsons, Timothy Taylor, Patrick Taylor and wife Katie, Christopher Taylor, Hunter Taylor and wife Ebony and Fisher Taylor; five great-grandchildren Sierra Taylor, Triston Taylor, Asher Taylor, Elora Taylor and Riley Taylor.

Pallbearers were Hunter Taylor, Fisher Taylor, Jason Wright, Timothy Taylor, Patrick Taylor and Christopher Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross.
