A convicted sex offender is back in jail after law enforcement found out he was not living at his registered address.
Roy Lee Sears, 50, was arrested June 26 and charged with failure to register a move. He was placed in the Morgan County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
Sears, a convicted sex offender, is required to register a move in accordance with statutes of the Sexual Offenders Registration Notification Act (sorna). SVU Sgt. Pete Taylor, senior officer Jenny Denton and state probation officer Tom Digiulian discovered that Sears had not been living at his registered address, 16 Shasteen Lane, Lot 2 in Somerville.
