Corum wins men’s hair styling award
Tanner Corum, a hair stylist at Colours Salon & Boutique in Hartselle, won first place in the men’s design division of a Skills USA competition in Birmingham recently.
He received a gold medallion to commemorate his achievement.
The contest attracted a large number of talented barbers and hair designers from throughout the state, including the top students from schools of cosmetology.
“This was my first competition and it was tough,” said Corum, “but it was a lot of fun.”
A 2011 Hartselle High School graduate, Corum attended Wallace State Community College where he graduated from the school of cosmetology. He recently qualified as a Rusk color designer and instructor.
Corum has been associated with Colours Salon & Boutique for a year.
