The Morgan County Extension Office is hosting a Babysitting 101 class Tues., July 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Sparkman Civic Center. Learn the basics of babysitting, diaper changing, feeding, games to play with children and what to do in an emergency. This is not a Red Cross certification class and there is no fee. Sparkman Civic Center will host a night of fun and games for kids 5-12 years old during its FUN-tastic Friday on July 12 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Parents can plan a fun evening out and drop the kids off for a $10 fee. Register by July 8 to reserve your space. Snacks will be provided.

Body Quest will be Mon., July 12, through Thur., July 18, from 10 a.m. to noon at Sparkman Civic Center. Body Quest is a four-day workshop with the goal to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, make physical activity jazzy, enhance sleep, hygiene and encourage family engagement, all with the help of an Apple iPad. Cullman Regional Medical Center is having a Prepared Childbirth Class Sat. July 13, from 8 a.m. to noon. Mom’s support person is encouraged to attend.The cost is $25 per couple or $20 per couple for WomenFirst Members and FREE to Medicaid patients.

The Morgan County Extension Office is offering a free Canning Class July 15 at 10 a.m. This two-hour class will teach the basics of canning in order to preserve food safely and eliminate the possibility of incurring deadly botulism poisoning.
