The Fourth of July is usually a scorcher of a summer holiday known for its outdoor activities.

To accommodate the holiday, Hartselle Aquatic Center will close early being open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 4 and resume normal hours July 5.

This holiday is usually a busy day for the Hartselle Aquatic Center, but chances of scattered thunderstorms could intermittently close the pool.

The Hartselle Aquatic Center closes in the event of thunder, lightning or rain hard enough to obscure sight of the bottom of the deep end. The pool reopens 30 minutes after the last lightening sighting or the rain lets up.

Other places in Hartselle will stay open during the holiday as well. Hartselle Police and Fire departments will stay on call, and Sedona’s Steakhouse will be open during normal business hours on the fourth. Pig Stand will be open July 4 until 4 p.m.

Other restaurants and businesses will be closed July 4 including Oh! Bryan’s, local city halls, The Freight House, William Bradford Huie Library and Sparkman Civic Center.

The Morgan County Animal Shelter will be closed Thurs., July 4 and Fri., July 5. Mister Henry’s Neighborhood Restaurant will be closed all this week.
