Water line break reduces pressure

A water line break on Nix Street caused a drop in water pressure for Hartselle customers residing mostly north of Alabama 36 on Thursday.
Hartselle Utilities engineer Glen Partlow said water pressure dropped when an eight-inch main ruptured at approximately 9:15 a.m.
“It took us awhile to locate the problem because of all the rainwater run-off,” Partlow said. “Luckily, a customer spotted it and called us.”
He said the break was repaired and pressure returned to normal about 4 p.m.
