Two charged with drug trafficking
The Morgan County Drug Task Force believes deputies have apprehended two of the key players in supplying heroin to the Shoals area.
Patrol deputies stopped a 2008 Cadillac STS on Highway 157 Tues., July 8. Deputies identified the driver as John Wesley Akin, 27, and the passenger as David Ros, 25, both of Florence.
K-9 deputies were called and found a quantity of Heroin doubling the required weight for trafficking standards in Alabama and having an appoximate street value of $2,400.
Akin and Ros were both arrested and charged with trafficking in illegal drugs- Heroin. The MCDTF seized the vehicle, which is worth approximately $30,000.
