Nelma Pauline ‘Polly’ Poole

Funeral for Nelma Pauline “Polly” Poole, 83, of Hartselle was Tues., July 23, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church at Upshaw with the Revs. Troy Smith and Glenn Wood officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Poole was born in Lawrence County on July 11, 1930, to Coy Taft and Flora Aaron Stracener. She died Sat., July 20, 2013, at Summerford Nuring Home. Mrs Poole was a member of Friendship Baptist Church at Upshaw. She is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Poole; three brothers, John Stracener, Kenneth Stracener and Donald Stracener; and a sister, Sue Stracener.

Mrs. Poole is survived by two sons, Edward Floyd Poole and wife Alicia and Bennie Steve Poole and wife Jennie; a sister, Perney Smith and husband Troy; four grandchildren, Steven Poole and wife Lea, Michael Poole and wife Nicole; Jason Poole and wife Kim, and Cynthia Stewart and husband Michael; and four great-grandchildren, Bradley Poole, Aiden Poole, Scarlet Poole and Justin Stewart.

Pallbearers were Michael Poole, Steven Poole, Jason Poole, Bradley Poole, Wallace Smith and Joe Smith.
