Longtime business owner found dead
The Hartselle Police Department is investigating the death of longtime business owner Mack Gardner, who died at his home Thursday.
Lt. Justin Barley, spokesman for the Hartselle Police Department, said in an emailed statement that officers were dispatched to 1402 West Main St. for a 911 call at 11:38 a.m. Thursday.
McKinley “Mack” Gardner, 72, was found dead inside the residence.
“At this time, HPD is conducting a death investigation in conjunction with the Morgan County Coroners office,” Barley said in the statement. “No further details can be released at this time.”
Gardner and his wife, Karen, own Mack’s Paint and Body Shop on East Main Street, which has been in business for more than 40 years.
