Funeral for Helen Ruth Cook, 88, of Birmingham will be Wed., July 31, at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial (Trussville).

Visitation will be Wed. July 31, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial (Trussville). Family graveside burial will be at 2 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Cemetery,

Mrs. Cook was born March 18, 1925, in Decatur. She was the daughter of the late John Henry Smith and Illa Helen Summerford. She is preceded in death by her brother Thomas Arthur Smith. She was a graduate of Morgan County High School. She was a devoted wife of 53 years to the late Joe Gordon Cook of Hartselle. She loved her entire family and her family loved her.

She is survived by two sons, Joe Rusty Cook and wife Elaine and Scott Cook and wife Diana; six grandsons: Wayne Cook and wife Breanne, Joe Cook II, Daniel Cook III, Matt Cook, Clinton Cook and wife Kay, Bradford Cook; three great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces and nephews.
