The Edd Balch Memorial Scholarship Fund will sponsor an Evening of Entertainment at the new Hartselle High School Auditorium Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. They are seeking volunteers to participate in this variety-type show – singing (solos or groups), instrumental individuals or groups, dancing, dramatic reading, etc. Anyone who was directed by Edd or performed with him in a theater production or sang with him in Decatur Civic Chorus concerts are encouraged to participate. The Hartselle Civitan Club meets the first and third Monday at 6 p.m. in Sparkman Civic Center Room 10. The club works with Civitan International to support and work with people in our community with mental and physical disabilities. They also support the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham. Civitan is the only civic club with a research center. Hartselle Civitan Club was responsible for starting the Special Needs Accessible Playground located directly behind the Sparkman Civic Center.
