Funeral for Alta Maude “Maw” Sharp, 95, of Somerville will be Sat.,  Aug. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Edmonson officiating.

Burial will be at Somerville Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Sharp died Aug. 7, 2013, at her residence. She was born April 12, 1918, to William Elijah and Mary Gladys Thomas Edmonson. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, a faithful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lovick T. Sharp; three daughters, Mamie Sue Turney, Peggy Harris and Betty Johnson; three brothers, Glenn Edmonson, George Edmonson, W. E. Edmonson; and a sister, Aileen Edmonson Couch.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Sharp; and a daughter, Vivian S. Smith, both of Somerville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren
