Albert F. Wood

Funeral for Albert F. Wood, 77, of Somerville will be Sat., Aug. 24, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Peebles officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Fri., Aug. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wood died Wed., Aug. 21, 2013, at his residence. He was born May 14, 1936, in Morgan County to Robert Frank Wood and Lillian Elzora Chambers Wood. Mr. Wood was the owner-operator of Control Systems. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Wood of Somerville; a step-son, Jim Jordan, Jr., of Decatur; a step-daughter, Susan Wrenn and husband Shawn of Trinity; two sons, Carl Wood and wife Liz of Guntersville; Danny Wood and wife Cricket of Huntsville; five brothers, Conard Wood and wife Onvie, Buford Wood and wife Mitzi, Jerry Wood and wife Margarite, Larry Wood and Joe Tuson Wood, all of Cullman; and a sister, Leanese Smith of Cullman.

Pallbearers will be Jim Jordan, Jr., Ray Lindsey, Al Siverling, Gabriel Wood, Caleb Lindsey and Tyler Kelly.

Mr. Wood’s wife, Marlene, would like to extend a special thanks to Alacare Hospice of Decatur and heart felt thanks to Nurse Samantha Franklin for her love and compassion to my husband and comfort to me.
