Deadline for Depot Days Pageant set for Tuesday

The Sept. 3 deadline is approaching for the Depot Days Pageant.

The 4th Annual Depot Days Pageant to be held on Saturday, Sept. 14. Applications are available at the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, area merchants and online at www.hartsellechamber.com. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. No late entries will be accepted. No refunds after turn-in date.

The entry fee is $75. This includes participation in the pageant and all side events, including photogenic and a pageant tee shirt.

There are eight age categories for girls and four age categories for young boys. The pageant for Tiny Miss & Master and Little Miss & Master (birth to 8 years old) will be held at 10 a.m. on that Saturday. The Petite, Teen and Miss Depot Days Pageant (ages 9-18) will be in the afternoon beginning at 2 p.m.

A king and queen and first and second alternates will be chosen from each age group. Other awards include Best Smile, Prettiest Hair, Prettiest Eyes and Photogenic. Overall winners will be selected as follows: Tiny Miss & Master Depot Days from the 0-4 year old age group; Little Miss & Master from the 5-8 year old age group; Petite Miss Depot Days from the 9-11 year old age group; Teen Miss Depot Days from the 12-15 year old age group; and Miss Depot Days from the 16-18 year old group.

The overall winner will not be the winner of his or her respective age division. The boy or girl with the highest overall points from her age group will be named the overall winner in their respective category, according to Angela Hale, pageant co-chair.
