Lady Tigers win one, lose one on the road

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers (33-15, 5-0) lost one match and won one in a volleyball tri-match at Austin High School on Monday night.

They defeated Austin 25-17, 25-5 and lost to Hazel Green 22-25, 25-19, 12-15.

Haley Jared and Taylor Lybarger each had seven kills to lead the Lady Tigers in scoring against Austin. Jared also had three digs and a block and Lybarger had two digs and an ace. Melissa-Paul Hill collected 16 assists, three digs, a kill and an ace, Megan Zuck had five kills, threw aces, two digs, a block and an assist, Sarah Ellen Battles scored six digs, two aces and a kill, Katy Beth Bole had three kills and two blocks, Bailey Powell collected two kills and a dig, Jordan Barbrey had a dig and an assist and Hannah Warren had a dig.

In the loss to Hazel Green, Zuck paced Hartselle with 10 kills, four digs, two aces and a block, Jared had 10 kills, three digs, two blocks and an ace, Lybarger collected four kills, seven digs and a block, Hill had 28 assists, four digs, three blocks, four kills and an ace. Battles had 12 digs, Powell had two kills, two digs and a block, Barbrey had three digs and Katy Beth Bole had a kill and a dig.
