Lady Tigers recognize seniors at last home game
Five senior members of Hartselle High School’s volleyball team (36-16) were singled out for special recognition at their last regular season home Thursday night.
Introduced as honorees by head coach Tanya Lybarger were players Haley Jared, Taylor Lybarger, Melissa-Paul Hill and Sarah Ellen Battles and manager Ginni Rose Smith. Each received a bouquet of roses and an autographed volleyball and stood with their parents as they were applauded by fans and photos were made.
Prior to the ceremony, the Lady Tigers played Addison and lost 25-22, 25-21. In a later match, they defeated Guntersville 25-15, 19-25, 15-12.
Haley Jared paced the Lady Tigers in their loss by scoring nine kills, four digs, two aces and a block. Taylor Lybarger had seven kills and six digs. Megan Zuck scored six kills, two digs, three blocks and an ace.
Melissa-Paul Hill had 21 assists, seven digs, three blocks, two kills and an ace. Sarah Ellen Battles collected 13 digs and a kill. Bailey Powell had a dig, a block and a kill. Hannah Warren collected three digs. Katy Beth Bole had two blocks, a dig and a kill and Jordan Barbrey had a dig.
Against Guntersville, Jared collected seven kills, five aces, three digs and a block. Lybarger had three kills, six digs, three aces and an assist.
Zuck scored five kills and three aces. Hill collected 16 assists, four digs, an ace and a kill. Battles had 13 digs, two aces, an assist and a kill.
Powell scored three kills, a dig and two blocks. Barbrey had seven digs, an ace and an assist and Bole had a block.
