Danville man injured in train crossing crash

A Danville man was injured after his car was struck by a Norfolk Southern train at a crossing on Alabama 67 in Decatur early Friday morning.

Decatur Police identified the victim as Perry Brandon Jones, 52, of Danville. He was driving a Honda Civic and no passengers were in the vehicle.

Members of the Decatur  Police Department, Decatur Fire and Rescue and Decatur EMS were dispatched to Alabama 67 just south of Alabama 20 to a crash involving a 1991 Honda Civic and a Norfolk Southern Train.

The Civic was traveling southbound on Alabama 67 when it collided with the train.

Jones was transported from the scene, via Med-Flight helicopter, to Huntsville  Hospital with no life-threatening injuries.

No one on the train was injured.

Decatur Police are investigating the crash.
