Community Calendar for Oct. 30

Hartselle First Assembly will be hosting a “Western Fest” Oct. 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Bearden Farm. Call the church office for directions at 256-773-8880. Wear your best western costume. There will be a costume contest, bonfire, food, and treat bags for all the kids.

Flint Baptist Church, 4119 Highway 31 S in Decatur is having their Fall Festival, Wed., Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is 2 canned food items for the Emergency Food Pantry. For more information, call 256-303-9697 or email ToniRichie12@­gmail.com.

East Highland Baptist Church, Hartselle, will have a trunk-or-treat Wed., Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information, call 256-773-4157.

Christ Fellowship Church of God, Hwy. 31, South, Hartselle, will host a trunk-n-treat on Wed., Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Shiloh Baptist Church in Somerville, is sponsoring the 22nd installment of The Judgment Seat, an eight-scene walk-through drama, will be Oct. 28-31 from 6-10 p.m. each night. The goal of this event is presenting the truth of God’s word in a creative and interesting way. Admission is free. No reservations are needed, but reservations can be made for groups of 10 or more. West Hartselle Baptist Church will host a free fall festival Fri., Nov. 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  for the entire community. Games, activities and candy available for pre-schoolers and children. Free food for all.

The King’s Messengers Quartet will sing at Daniel’s Chapel Baptist Church in Eva on Sat., Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. as a benefit for Tammy Simpson. Everyone is welcome.

Oak Ridge United Methodist Church will have a church-wide yard sale Sat., Nov. 2, beginning at 7 a.m. The church is located on Norris Mill Road.

The Soul Seekers Quartet will  sing at First Holy Church of Christ at 3525 Central Parkway in Decatur on Sat., Nov. 2, at 7 p.m., Everyone is welcome.

Eva United Methodist Church will host a Christmas Bazaar on Sat., Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m..in the fellowship hall. Lunch will be served beginning at 10 a.m. Get a jump on holiday shopping. Serenity Baptist Church, located at 1062 Perkinswood Road in Hartselle is hosting a singing with the Driven Quartet from North Carolina, and Wesley Smith, Sun., Nov. 10, at 6 pm.

Westmeade Baptist Church, located at 1626 Runnymeade Ave. SW in Decatur, will have a free journaling class Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. Getting your thoughts and feelings out on paper is a helpful tool in dealing with cancer and life in general. You will learn different forms of journaling to record your days, emotions, meaningful scriptures, prayers and inspirational quotes. Door prizes and light refreshments will be served.

First Baptist Hartselle will be hosting a Feed the Community Outreach on Wed., Nov. 27.  The meal is FREE!  The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. You can make reservations by calling, 256-773-5500.

First Independent Methodist Church in Decatur will have a men’s Bible study each Tuesday starting at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Hal at the annex building. Bring cans for the can trailer every Sunday or Wednesday. Proceeds go toward youth camp.

Oak Ridge Baptist Church, located 2.5 miles west of Hartselle on Vaughn Bridge Road, offers services as follows: Sunday school at 10 a.m., worship service at 11 a.m., Wednesday Bible study at 6 p.m. Training Union at 5 p.m. and evening worship at 6 p.m. The public is welcome.

West End United Methodist Church, located at 513 St. Clair St. in Hartselle, with the Rev. Richard Cassis hosts Sunday breakfast and fellowship at 9:45 a.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m. followed by welcome and announcements at 10:50 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday evening worship is at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening Bible study begins at 5 p.m.

Life House Assembly of God, located on 144 County Road 1212 in Vinemont, holds weekly services on the following schedule: Sunday morning worship and Kid Zone children’s church at 11 a.m. and Wednesday night Bible study at 6 p.m. Pastor is Howard Leslie.
