Funeral for Hilda Nelson, 89, of Hartselle will be Fri., Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson died Sun., Dec. 1, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born July 28, 1924, in Morgan County to James Powell and Dora Brannon Powell. She was a long-time member of Hartselle Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buron R. Nelson; her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by one son, Anthony Nelson and wife Linda of Birmingham; a sister, Martha Kenney and husband Mike of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Nelson, Jennifer Carter and husband Daniel and Todd Nelson; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins; and many community friends.

Pallbearers will be family members.
