Funeral for Ann Newton Slate, 70, of Decatur will be Sat., Dec. 7, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Courville officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Slate died Thur., Dec. 5, 2013 at Decatur General Hospital. She was born May 24, 1943, in Atlanta, Ga. to James Awtry Newton and
Cecile Warner Slate. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ms. Slate is survived by a son, Robin Slate of Decatur; two daughters, Casie Slate of Decatur and Kelli Slate Caldwell and husband Brian of Hartselle; a brother, Jimmy Newton of Safety Harbor, Fla.; two sisters, Ginger Newton and Judy Newton Harwell, both of Decatur; two grandchildren, Rayleigh and Ben Caldwell.
