Blaze strikes fire station at Danville
Firefighters from surrounding volunteer fire departments were battling a fire at Danville Fire Station on Alabama 157, between Johnson Chapel Road and County Road 41 Friday morning.
Morgan County Chief Deputy Sheriff Michael Corley said sheriff’s deputies responded to the fire alarm at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Roadblocks were set up at the intersections of Johnson Chapel Road and County Road 41 to allow firefighters to lay waterlines across the highway. All traffic on Alabama 157 were detoured around the fire scene.
Corley said he was not aware of anyone other than firefighters and other rapid responders being linked to the blaze.
Firefighters are still on the scene at this time.
