Jerry Kyle Rackley, Sr.

Funeral for Jerry Kyle Rackley, Sr. age 69, of Hartselle will be Mon., Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Holt officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors.

Mr. Rackley died Thurs., Dec. 12, 2013. at his home. He was born Aug. 1, 1944, in Decatur to Jesse Kyle Rackley and Beatrice Nethery Rackley. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Monsanto after 42 ½ years. He loved fishing, hunting, boating and especially enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Rackley; two sons, Jimmy Rackley and wife Katie of Moulton and Kyle Rackley and wife Amy of Hartselle; a daughter, Donna Smith of Lynchburg, Va., a brother, John Rackley of Arley: two sisters, Nagatha Morgan of Hartselle and Peggy Barham of Elkmont; eleven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Howse, Louie Crow, Douglas Bailey, Sydney Stevenson, Doyle Ward and Donnie Lawrence.
