Monte Johnson

Funeral for Monte Johnson, 61, of Somerville will be Mon., Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Don Trosper, Bro. Gerald Case and Bro. Melvin Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. He will lie in state for two hours prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery. Visitation will be Sun., Dec. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson died Fri., Dec. 13, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born December 17, 1951, in Morgan County to Russell Doris Johnson and Adocia Cherie Brown Johnson. He was a member of Valhermoso Holiness Church and was self-employed in the scrap metal business. He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Johnson of Somerville; a son, Brandon Johnson and wife Connie of Somerville; mother, Cherie Brown Johnson of Somerville; two brothers, Jimmy Johnson of Somerville and Randy Johnson of Tuscumbia; three sisters, Rhea Trosper of Somerville, Linda Case of Huntsville and Evie Hawkins of Eva; two grandchildren, B.J. Johnson and  Natalie Johnson.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
