Boys basketball: Cullman 63, Hartselle 46

Cullman used an 11-0 run at the end of the second quarter to take control in a 63-46 win over Hartselle Friday night in a key area game.

The Tigers (3-5, 1-2) and Bearcats exchanged baskets through most of the first and second quarter. With Hartselle leading 24-20, Cullman closed the half on the run to take 31-24 lead.

From there, the Bearcats didn’t look back. Cullman’s advantage grew to as many as 22 points by the fourth quarter, as they cruised to the area win.

Two Bearcats led the team with 13 points apiece.

Jamal Jackson and Brady Wallace both had 10 points in the loss followed by Tobias Mitchell with eight points and 10 rebounds, Zeth Malcolm with seven, Dolan Golden with five, Phillip Summerford with four points and seven rebounds and Josiah Lanier with two.
