Richard E. Morton

Funeral for Richard E. Morton, 70, of Hartselle will be Tues., Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Hill officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Mon., Dec. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Morton died Wed., Dec. 25, 2013, at his residence. He was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Culloden West Virginia to Emory Lee Morton and Vada Irene Davis Morton. Mr. Morton retired from Ford Motor Company in 1997 and was an avid bow and gun hunter. He loved competition archery. He was a devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Reva J. Morton of Hartselle, two sons, Michael Morton (Lisa) of Austin, Texas and Robert Morton of Minneapolis, Minn.; a step-son, Richard Clark (Sue) of Spring Grove, Pa.; a step-daughter, Becky Smith of Amherst, Ohio; a brother, David Morton (Roberta) of Culloden, WV; five step-grandchildren, Karli, Kelli, Kandice and Kacy Smith and Mary Clark.

Pallbearers will be Randy Lamb, John David Orr, Jason Wisener, Landon Walls and Rod Massie.
