Priceville girls win West Morgan championship

Priceville’s bulldogs hold the championship they won Saturday as the winner in the 2013 Lady Rebel Invitational Tournament at West Morgan High School. Team members are Jada Beverly, Kenzie Price, McKenzie Parker, Peyton Parker, Briann Gwin, Shyanne Stackhouse, Emilee Cunningham, Alex Moore, and Kayla Lucas, Mia Grantland and Ashlee Quinn. Head coach is Terrie Nelson.

Priceville’s Lady Bulldogs picked up four wins in games played during Christmas week to win the West Morgan Christmas Tournament Saturday.

The games were as follows:

Priceville 61, Falkville 51

Priceville posted a 10-point win over Falkville’s Lady Blue Devils in the opening round of the West Morgan Invitational Tournament on Friday night. The teams were tied at 24-all at halftime but Priceville took charge in the third quarter and held a 42-36 advantage after three periods.

Scoring in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs were Peyton Parker with 16 points and McKenzie Parker with 10. Jada Beverly had nine and Emilee Cunningham added seven.

Emily Mickelson led Falkville with 16 points followed by Tricia Kilgore with 10.

Priceville 34, Lexington 31

The Lady Bulldogs pulled out a 34-31 win over Lexington on Saturday, improving their record to 14-2.

Cunningham paced the win with 12 points and eight rebounds. P. Parker followed with seven points, Jada Beverly added five points, Alex Moore had four points and 10 rebounds and Barbara Gwin added four points.

Savannah Stultz and Kenzy Johnson each had seven points for Lexington.

Priceville 55, Danville 45

The Lady Bulldogs picked up their third win in the Lady Revel Invitational Tournament by defeating Danville, 55-45.

They broke a 21-all halftime tie by scoring 17 points to Danville’s seven in the third period.

McKenzie Parker led the way on offense with 15 points. Jada Beverly followed with 14 points and Alex Moore added 10.

Sydni Shelton led Danville with 22 points followed by Shelia Cordova and Charlee Anderson with seven each.

Priceville 65, Hatton 60

Jada Beverly scored 21 to lead Priceville past Hatton.

Alex Moore also had 15 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

McKenzie Parker added seven points and six assists while sister Peyton Parker had six points and 12 assists. Brianna Gwin added six points followed by Kayla Lucas with five, Ashlee Quinn with four, and Shyanne Stackhouse with one.

Priceville 60, Brooks 32

McKenzie Parker led the way with 21 points and six rebounds while Emilee Cunningham had 17 points, five rebounds and four steals.

Jada Beverly also added 10 points and four assists followed by Alex Moore with five points, Brianna Gwin with three Kayla Lucas with two, and Shyanne Stackhouse with two.

Peyton Parker had 12 assists.
