Richard “Dick” Martin

A celebration of life service for Richard “Dick” Martin, 77, of Hartselle will be Sat., Jan. 04, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Miller and Brother Charles Shaddix officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mr. Martin died Jan. 1, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Jefferson County on July 07, 1936 to Richard Nathaniel Martin Sr. and Annie Benson Martin. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy. He was preceded in death by brother, Oliver Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Harper Martin; three sons, Richard “Ric” Martin III, and wife Michelle of Falkville, Durwood Harper “Harpp” Martin and wife Janna of Hartselle and Nicholas Swann “Nick” Martin of Elmore; a brother, Burt Martin and wife Carolyn of Montgomery; a sister, Virginia Holloway of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Katrina Pressley and husband Kyle, T.J. Wildmon and wife Amy and Nic Martin; three great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Basinger, Ally Wildmon and Landon Wildmon; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Children’s Baptist Home of Troy, or First Baptist Church of Hartselle.
