Sheriff’s Office searching for murder suspect

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a 21-year-old man who is a suspect in connection with the murder of Jonathan Bowling.

Authorities are looking for Cody Lee Compton, a 21-year-old white male. His last listed address was 1536 Pine Ridge Road in Union Grove.

Sheriff Ana Franklin’s office stated in a press release that the suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous. He was last seen in a 2000 Honda Civic sedan, dark purple in color, with Alabama Tag 50D19R4.

The Sheriff’s Department believes Compton is traveling with Amanda Nichols, who is also wanted for questioning as a witness to the murder.

A felony arrest warrant for murder is being obtained for Bowling as of Friday morning.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Nichols or Compton is asked to contact Sheriff Ana Franklin or Morgan County Sheriff’s Investigators at 256-301-1174.
