Falkville residents celebrate holidays

Holiday guests of Herman and Adell Gibson were Wayne and Gail Howard, Melina Stafford, Mattie Kate and Gib, Tracy Randolph and sons, Greggory and Jonathan, Lavon Gibson and Howard and Helen Gibson.

Dalane and Darlene McCormick hosted a family Christmas Eve dinner at their home. Sharing food and good times were Marcus and Danice Dean, Gwyn, McKenzie and Evan, Jeremy and Dana Thomason, Wyatt, Ayden and Arleigh and Michael and Danielle Teague, Eli and Owen. Santa came to visit and exchange gifts and played games.

The families of the late Buster Thompson celebrated Christmas Eve with a covered dish dinner at the Falkville Fire Department. Hostesses were Bonnie Thompson and Brenda Norman. Fifty-two guests enjoyed sharing Christmas Eve together.

Doyle and Pam Dunn hosted a Christmas Eve party at their home in Decatur. Guests were members of Pam’s family. They exchanged gifts and had a good time together. Fifty family members attended the event.

Belated birthday wishes are sent to Rachel Wilson. Her special day was Dec. 26 and she was 13 years old. She is the granddaughter of Brenda Norman.

Belated birthday wishes are sent to Brenda Norman on Dec. 30 and Carol Cole from Falkville Senior Center on Dec. 31.

Ray and Betty Sanders enjoyed all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for a special day together Sun., Dec. 23. Attending were Diane and Barry Bryan of Huntsville, their granddaughter, Sherry and grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ryland, and special friend and Russell, also from Huntsville, Shawn and Kerri Banks of Maryville, Tenn. and their children, Cooper and twins Lydia and Curtis, Don Sanders of Hartselle, Kristie, Keith and Justin Huffsteller of Vinemont, John and Sherryl Sanders of Hatton and children Nelson and Chelsea and special friend, Logan Shelton, Brittany McDonald and Reece of Tuscaloosa, Mrs. Bernice Carroll of Hatton and Melanie of North Carolina, Jeremy and April Kilpatrick of Vinemont with Tyler, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Kortnsy, Braydine and Crystal and a special friend, Janet Woods and granddaughter.

The families of the late William and Betty Morris enjoyed Christmas at Eva Senior Center. Good food, fellowship and reminiscing about the past were enjoyed by the following: Baxter and Glenda Bryant, Jason and Caroline Moody of Cullman, Brent, Meredith and Madeline Panell of Alabaster, Sandy and Caleb Fields of Massey, Frank, Suzanne and Brooklyn Dougherty of Madison, Jill Joiner, Michael, Jill, Mick and Erin Norris, Lila and Trevor Turner of Montgomery; Max and Dana Schrimsher, Ralph and Mary Alice Nelson, Helen Presley, Don, Keith, Whitney, Kannon and Gavin Dougherty, Eileen Burke, Cris and Preston Bryant, John David, Sara and Ava Bryant, June, Nelson and Scarlett Graham of Falkville, Valerie of Georgia and the host and hostess.

Enjoying Christmas breakfast at the home of Ralph and Mary Alice Nelson were June, Nelson and Scarlett Graham, Sandy and Caleb Fields and Rex Slate. After the meal, the family enjoyed exchanging gifts.

The Larry Fite Sunday School Class of Gandy’s Cove enjoyed a Christmas party at the home of Ralph and Mary Alice Nelson. Those attending were Larry and Karen Fite, Howard and Becky Johnson, Harold Gandy, Barbara Ward and Shirley Smith.

The youth of Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church enjoyed working on a float, which they rode in the Eva and Hartselle parades. They won first place in Eva and third place in Hartselle. The sleigh was made and the tractor driven by Tim Shaneyfelt. The young people and several adults helped decorate and all enjoyed riding in the parades.

Christmas Day guests of Don and Willodean Blankenship were Keith and Melanie Blankenship, Samantha, Travis and Shelley, Greg and Kim Boggs, Ashley and Colin, Joey and Kelli Krieger, Luke and Brandon.
