Perry R. Rolfe

Funeral for Perry R. Rolfe, 81, of Somerville was Mon., Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church with Kathryne Perkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Rolfe died Sat., Jan. 11, 2014, at his home in Somerville. He was born Sept. 7, 1932, in Morgan County to Joe Wilbur Rolfe and Mary McCutcheon. He was a lifelong member of Antioch United Methodist Church, retired from Redstone Arsenal after 33 years and also retired as a lieutenant colonel after serving for 33 years as a member of the 1343rd Battalion of the U. S. Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe Rolfe Jr. and Harry Rolfe; a sister, Faye Rolfe Willis; and a stepbrother, Dr. Dale Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Julia Rolfe, a son, Phillip Rolfe (Brenda); a daughter; Belinda Thompson (Steve); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Thompson and Joseph Thompson, all of Somerville; and a stepsister; Judy Brown Aldridge of Danville.

Pallbearers were Donald Ray Rolfe, Roger Garner, Christopher Binkley, Herb Willis, Patrick Willis and Don Murphy.
