10 more file with probate office
Ten candidates have filed paperwork with the Morgan County Probate Office within the past week, bringing the total to 14, according to chief deputy clerk Joann Wotton.
Newcomers candidates, all of whom represent the republican party, are: Van Glasscock, Commissioner of Licenses; Thomas “Tommy” Halbrooks, Commissioner, District 2; Martha A. Barber Humphrey, Commissioner, District 2; Randy Cavnar, Sheriff; Jeff Chunn, Coroner; Adam Rex Glenn, Morgan County School Board; Darrell Lee Childers, Sheriff; Bill Hopkins, School Superintendent; Jeff Clark, Commissioner District 1; and Jerry “J.D.” Smith, Commissioner of Licenses.
Their candidacies are subject to the June 3 Primary Election. Nominees will go on to represent their parties in the Nov. 4 General Election.
Previously, Ana Franklin filed for re-election as sheriff, Randy Vest for reelection in Commission, District 2, Carolyn Wallace for License Commissioner and Robert Irvin for Commissioner, District 2.
Arthur Orr and Ed Henry are serving in their final year in the state legislature and both have announced they will seek re-election for State Senate and State House of Representatives, respectively.
Twelve county offices are up for election.
