A celebration of life service for Willow Dean Foote Shaneyfelt (Mama Deanie), 83, of Hartselle will be Sat., Jan. 25, at 3 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Charles E. Brown and Harold Fanning officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shaneyfelt died Wed., Jan. 22, 2014, at her residence. She was born May 1, 1930, in Morgan County to Marvin P. and Velma Lee Foote. Mrs. Shaneyfelt, better known to most as Mama Deanie, was a homemaker whose family was her passion and delight. She enjoyed quilting and had made hundreds of quilts over the years. She was a great cook and loved sewing and gardening. She was a kind and compassionate individual who opened her home to everyone. Her home provided a respite for anyone who chose to visit. Her love for everyone was evident throughout her lifetime. She was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday school for children and youth for over 50 years and held various positions within the church. Mrs. Shaneyfelt leaves quite a legacy for her family and friends, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Shaneyfelt was preceded in death by her husband, Lester William Shaneyfelt; a daughter, Debby Shaneyfelt Campbell; a great-granddaughter, Faith Kennedy; and a brother, Gurney Ray Foote.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Phillip Shaneyfelt (Lori) and Stephen Mark Shaneyfelt, both of Hartselle; three daughters, Diana Henry (Bruce), Cheryl Hale, both of Hartselle, and Terri Wrenn (Greg) of Vinemont; two sisters, Jean Miller and Fay Kelly, both of Hartselle; eight grandchildren, Christi Henry McAbee, Cindy Henry Holsclaw (Jeff), Chad Henry, Miranda Shaneyfelt Wallace (Jon), Kevin Shaneyfelt (Ashley), Anna Jones Sparks (Ron), Chelsea Hale Wellman (Justin) and Will Wrenn; ten great-grandchildren, Charlie McAbee, Hunter McAbee, Tess McAbee, Walker McAbee, Maggie Holsclaw, Connor Wallace, Morgan Shaneyfelt, Madison Shaneyfelt, Samantha Sparks, Crewe Wellman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tony Miller, Chris Keenum, Weston Keenum, Guy Wilson, Don Stisher, Bronson Bunch, Eric Gregory and Gray Keenum.
