Brewer JV girls win county championship

Brewer’s junior varsity girls defeated Hartselle, 28-22, to win a Morgan County basketball championship Saturday afternoon. Brewer’s junior varsity girls basketball team defeated Hartselle, 28-22, to claim a championship title in the Morgan County Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Patriots held an 8-7 advantage after one period and were on top 15-11 at halftime. The third quarter score was 17-13 in Brewer’s favor.

“I thought we played well on defense,” said head coach Shannon Hulse. “It’s always a big deal when you can win a county championship.”

Victoria Roberts led the Lady Patriots in scoring with seven points. Jessie Privett and Lindsey Borden each had six points.
