Priceville couldn’t rebound from its sluggish early start as the West Morgan Rebels won 65-48 to clinch the Morgan County Championship at Hartselle High School Saturday night.

The Rebels took command from the opening tip, outscoring Priceville 19-9 in the opening quarter. They put up 22 on the Bulldogs in the second quarter to lead 41-15 at halftime.

Priceville didn’t quit by shaving 10 points off of the lead at the end of the third quarter, but hole was just too steep to climb. Tournament MVP Grant Workman had just three points, but he dished out 10 assists to spark the Rebels in the victory.

He fed Peyton Mullican, Caleb Hazen and Dustin Morgan, who scored 17, 16 and 13 respectively. Luke Mason and Marc McLendon both finished with eight points in the win.
