ROUND-UP: Hawks win OT thriller to end season

Danville boys ended their regular season with a big 79-72 win on the road at Winston County in overtime Monday night.

Patrick Doherty led the Hawks with a career high 30 points, nailing seven 3-pointers. Hawks Alan and Andres Cordova each chipped in 12 points.

The Hawks led 17-16 at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead to 40-31 by halftime.

Winston County cut Danville’s advantage to 54-50 at the end of the third quarter and then caught the Hawks with a 69-69 tie at the end of regulation.

Henderson led Winston County with 23 points.

Danville will face Vinemont

Danville 63, Winston County 30

The Lady Hawks had 12 players score in the win.

They were led by Erin Cleghorn and Charlee Anderson each with eight.

Brook Garrison had 10 for Winston County.

Brewer girls down Hartselle

Riley Northway had 18 points and seven rebounds to lead the second-ranked Brewer Lady Patriots to a 53-24 win on senior night.

Savana Flack also poured in 12 points in her final regular season home game. Emily Oden added nine points and four steals followed by Tamera Chatman with five points, Malerie Drinkard with three points and 11 rebounds and Shelbi Bowen, Presley Craft and Cheyenne McLemore with two points each.

Riley Terry led Hartselle with five.

Brewer will host the area tournament, beginning Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against Columbia. Hartselle will take on Cullman at East Limestone Thursday at 6 p.m.

Priceville 52, West Morgan 47

McKenzie Parker led Priceville with 19 points to get the win over the Rebels.

Emilee Cunningham also scored 12 points for Priceville.
