Brewer advances to area final

The No. 2 Brewer Lady Patriots racked up 17 steals in a 64-38 win over Columbia to advance to the area final Saturday night at 6 p.m.

The Lady Patriots (25-6) will face Arab at home Saturday for the Class 5A, Area 12 championship. The teams split their two regular season meetings.

Presley Craft and Cheyenne McLemore did most of the dirty work by collecting five steals apiece while scoring five points and four points respectively.

Riley Northway also helped the Patriots collect 49 rebounds in the game with 16 of her own to go along with 18 points and three blocks for the game.

Malerie Drinkard added nine points, four rebounds and two blocks while Savana Flack finished with seven points, six rebounds and two assists.

Rounding out the scoring were Brooke Childers with five points and Emily Oden, Shelbi Bowen, Tamera Chatman and Bre Flack with four points each.
